Material: Nepalese paper is most often made from lokta fiber; a sturdy fiber that comes from the bark of lokta plants. Lokta paper has been used for centuries, it is made from Lokta bushes which grow at 4000 m above sea level. Artisans in Nepal collect the bark, soak it in water to soften it, and then blend the bark down into paper pulp. Each sheet is made entirely by hand and set to dry outside in the sun. For this product maybe a different fiber may have been used.
Paper: 100% paper produced in Nepal. The paper is handmade and hand-dyed in Nepal and is subject to slight variation in color and thickness making each piece unique. Nepali paper is locally known as Lokta Kagaj.
