Today, weโ€™re sharing exciting news about our upcoming trip to Nepal!

A key part of our journey will be aย field trip to the Lahan Province, made possibleย thanks to our amazing Buddies. With your support, we will distribute much-needed school supplies and uniforms to children in the Musahar community. This field trip is a vital part of our mission to support disadvantaged children in Nepal and help them gain access to education.

Unfortunately, a previously planned trip had to be postponed due to floods and landslides that severely impacted large parts of Nepal in recent months. However, the roads are now passable again, and we are excited to carry out this important mission soon.

We are planning an intensive and meaningfulย 3-day journey: Traveling from Kathmandu by jeep, we will bring along the school supplies. On-site, we will distribute these much-needed items to the children, visit several families in the Musahar community, and finally return using public transport. These three days are sure to make a significant impactโ€”not only on the families we meet but also on all of us.

If youโ€™d like to join us, donโ€™t hesitate to get in touch! Together, we can make an even greater impact on-site and support the children directly.

The Musahar belong to the Dalit caste, one of the most disadvantaged groups in Nepal. Traditionally known as “mouse catchers,” they are among the poorest of the poor. The majority live in extreme poverty, with little to no access to land, food, education, or healthcare. Their living conditions are dire:

Only a small percentage of Musahar children attend school, especially girls. Many are required to work from a young age to help their families survive or take on household duties. Illiteracy is widespread, with studies indicating that the literacy rate in the Musahar community is below 20%.

Access to clean drinking water and healthcare is severely limited, leading to high rates of illness and mortality. Malnutrition is a significant issue, particularly among children.

Most Musahar families live in simple straw huts, offering little protection against weather or natural disasters. Landslides and flooding worsen their already challenging situation.

During our trip, we will distribute school supplies and uniforms to 150 children in the Musahar community. This initiative is designed not only to enable children to attend school but also to alleviate some of the financial burdens on their families.en.

Education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty. By providing school supplies and covering the cost of uniforms, we can ensure that more children attend school regularly and have better opportunities for a self-determined future.

This trip and the support for the Musahar children would not be possible without you, our incredible Buddies. Your donations and dedication make this mission a reality. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts! ๐Ÿ™

The Musahar community needs our help, and we invite you to be part of this transformation. Whether through donations, sharing our message, or even joining us on this trip โ€“ every contribution counts and helps give children in Nepal a chance for a brighter future.
